If I was really using the 2 to my own advantage I would have used the guy in Europe to Suicide into someone who is slowing the other progress in Asia.

ninja_jawz 25009|ninja_jawzBtw, would like to throw out there that in Large tourneys, I have enjoyed most those where a team of 4 tries to make it through all the rounds. There's strategy and diplomacy and fun in that type of gameplay too. And so in those cases, I think it is fair enough to share around the "first place points" in different games. What's not fair is going into one of those games as a team and not letting the other players know (and have enough time) so they have the chance to rally themselves to also cooperate. Not *every* game needs to be "me against the world", but just be fair and upfront about it. Anyway, that's been my principle on those kind of games.

So hard to get this game going and it is the best place for Global Combat Chat. Public airing of the grievances, gotta love it.

New Dawn 34865|New DawnI'm surprised over the strong reactions - in this game at least. It is the deathmatch after all and I can't remember many of those that have been won without some kind of alliance. (Even though it may have happened in our parallell game. Have 3 player become strong on their own there?). Next round will be different though, as there will be close to 42 active players in contrast to this which had many dead players which in turn led to openings. It's quite possible that each player can keep his single area for all 70 turns next round. That'll be fun!

It's a casual game & expect from my nearly 18 yrs on GC as Ninja, Vikings & others have hinted towards is you don't bend over and help someone have an easy uncompetitive win. It's very much against the spirit of any game & any form of sportsmanship. And like Vikings said, it's not a win unless YOU WIN. If you're playing with the objective to help someone else win, you are a multi in my eyes. I like to earn my own wins & won't exploit everything I can in order to win, as I believe in sportsmanship. I'd rather die first in a competitive & fair game, then come 1st OR 2nd because I was riding on someone else's shoulders and used a secret alliance or other dodgy tactic to get there. Bottom line, regardless what any rules say, no one plays casual games or sports to be in uncompetitive & unfair matches. That's how you make players leave. And without other players, you don't have a game to play. We waited how many months for this game to start? And its over due to 3 people teaming. Kluure 71613|KluureNinja - I totally agree with your stance on the un-spoken NAPs, the still hold the spirit of a single winner of the game. I too agree with you about the hidden teaming. That is totally against the spirit of the game. Before finding this site I grew up playing classic risk and currently own over 20 variants of the game in my personal collection. When you sit around a table with others and play, any teamwork is noticed quickly and it is very difficult to have a secret alliance. All the secrecy by jbugs, timmy and crew goes against that. The end result of that sort of play is unbalanced play with the only goal of getting to the next level in a tourny.

ninja_jawz 25009|ninja_jawzEh, I'm kind of in-between on the NAP thing. To me, I will do it if it makes strategic sense to me. And tbf that's how I won a Deathmatch before - it was a "move out of my way and I won't kill you" type of deal. And then you have the non-spoken NAPs where everyone is playing for first, and there will automatically be the attempt to bring down whoever is in the strongest position, until that switches to someone else. Those games are few and fair between, but definitely great sportsmanship. What I'm not so fond of is the automatic and hidden teaming where other players are disadvantaged if they aren't aware that so and so always teams together. I know it's representative of real life - certain world powers will always come to the aid of their allies - but even in those you kind of know to expect it, whereas it can unfairly blindside you here on GC.
